Scenario
A 67-year-old woman came to us with long-standing stiffness and discomfort in her lower back, stemming from a disc injury many years ago. She had difficulties in bending and sitting for too long, which limited her daily function and quality of life.
Solution
We introduced a gradual, structured rehabilitation plan focused on safely reintroducing lumbar flexion. Starting with unloaded, controlled movements, we progressively increased the challenge by adding resistance and load. Our one-to-one sessions also focused on core activation and trunk stability to support spinal movement and build her confidence.
Results
Over time, she was able to move more freely with less discomfort. Her stiffness and pain while doing her day-to-day activities has significantly reduced, and she can now bend and sit easily.

One of the most common issues we address is lower back pain, where our focus is on improving movement control and core strength to reduce pain and enhance everyday function. We also see many patients for post-surgical rehabilitation, as we help them restore their full range of motion and strengthen surrounding muscles to support recovery.
Additionally, many patients come to us with pelvic floor concerns (i.e. pregnancy or post-surgery). In these cases, we concentrate on breathing techniques, deep core activation, and pelvic floor engagement to restore control and reduce strain.
Yes, absolutely! Clinical pilates can be particularly beneficial for individuals living with chronic pain or complex conditions. We treat each case individually and will assess all symptoms and pain limitations before creating a program.
Yes, we regularly collaborate with GPs and specialists to support our clients' rehabilitation. We also have an in-house GP at Restore Medical who can assess your condition and coordinate your treatment with our physiotherapist.
No worries! Our physio will always be there to guide you for each class. We’ll also help you set up the equipment for your exercises, select the right equipment, and make sure you're using it correctly.
Many of our clients come in at a beginner level in their strength and fitness. Our team can grade your strength and develop a beginner program if you’ve never done clinical pilates before.
We do not have lock-in classes for all groups and one-to-one sessions, so you can attend as often as you like without worrying about missing sessions. You can book your sessions one at a time if you need flexibility, but we also have options for securing regular spots in classes as well.
